Private Transcriber: Offline, Privacy Policy
DjamgaTech Corp · Last updated October 29, 2026
Short version: Private Transcriber does not collect, store or share any of your data. Your recordings, transcripts and summaries are made and kept on your device. The app has no account, no ads, no analytics and no server.
What stays on your device
- Recordings and imported files. Saved in the app's own folder on your iPhone, iPad or Mac.
- Transcripts. Made by Apple's on-device speech recognition. The app requires on-device recognition, so your audio is not sent to Apple or anyone else to be transcribed.
- Summaries. Made by Apple's on-device language model (Apple Intelligence), on the device.
- Settings and custom words. Stored on the device.
What we collect
Nothing. The app contains no analytics, advertising or tracking code and makes no network requests of its own. On the App Store its privacy label is "Data Not Collected".
Things Apple's systems do
- Language models. The first time you use a language, iOS may download Apple's speech model for it. This download is made by the system; your recordings are not sent.
- Purchases. The optional one-time in-app purchase is handled by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive your payment details.
- Backups. By default, the app's recordings are excluded from iCloud and computer backups. If you turn on "Include in iPhone backups" in Settings, they are included in the backups you make, under Apple's terms.
Sharing
A transcript, summary or file leaves the app only when you export it yourself with the share sheet, to the place you choose.
Deleting your data
Swipe left on a recording to delete it and its transcript. Deleting the app deletes everything it stored.
Recording other people
Laws on recording conversations differ by place. Ask people before you record them.
Children
The app collects no personal information from anyone, including children.
