Read Aloud Buddy, Privacy Policy
DjamgaTech Corp · Last updated October 30, 2026
Short version: Read Aloud Buddy does not collect, store or share any personal data. It listens while your child reads, on the device only. Your child's voice is never recorded and never uploaded. The app has no account, no ads, no analytics and no server.
Listening
- On the device only. While a story is open, the app uses the microphone and Apple's on-device speech recognition to follow the words your child reads. The app requires on-device recognition, so the audio is not sent to Apple or anyone else.
- Not recorded. No audio is saved. The microphone is used only while a story is open on screen.
What stays on your device
- Settings. Your child's first name or nickname and age (optional, used to greet them), text size, spacing and help settings.
- Reading results. Per-page results, such as words read and words that needed help, are kept on the device and never sent anywhere.
What we collect
Nothing. The app contains no analytics, advertising or tracking code and makes no network requests of its own. On the App Store its privacy label is "Data Not Collected".
Things Apple's systems do
- Speech model. The first time the app is used, iOS may download Apple's English speech model. This download is made by the system; no audio is sent.
- Purchases. The optional one-time in-app purchase is handled by Apple through the App Store, behind a grown-up check. We do not receive your payment details.
Deleting your data
Deleting the app deletes everything it stored.
Children
Read Aloud Buddy is made for children learning to read, used with a parent, tutor or teacher. It collects no personal information from anyone, including children, and has no ads, no links to social media and no account.
